On September 11th, we celebrated the launch of Campaign 2008 with our traditional Wing-Fest kick-off, hosted by Ellis and Archer of KX 96! The 15th annual event was held again this year at the fantastic General Motors Centre in downtown Oshawa. Approximately 1000 campaign volunteers, business and community leaders, agency staff and friends, supporters and friends of the United Way came together to officially kick-off the 68th United Way campaign in our communities.
Everyone enjoyed the wide variety of wings served up by our friends from : Hooters, Johnny's Original Eatery, Melanie Pringle's, Montana's Cookhouse, On The Rocks, Prospects, Shagwell's On The Ridge, The Thirsty Monk Grill Pub, Whiskey John's Bar and Grill, and of course Wild Wing ! We are so grateful to each of the restaurants for their support for this event and we would encourage you to visit them often!
